Regulatory News

The National Oil and Gas Agency (ANP) held a public hearing in Rio de Janeiro to debate the new version of the Permanent Offer notice for areas for exploration and production of oil and natural gas. The objective is to improve the rules and include 173 blocks.

Of the total blocks, 149 were already under study and obtained a statement regarding environmental feasibility and the other 24 were blocks offered and not awarded in the 16th Bidding Round held in October of last year.

In addition to these new blocks, the last permanent bid notice included 600 blocks, of which 33 were auctioned in September. With the new notice, the number of areas will rise to 740.
