All oil companies - domestic and foreign – working in the Campos Basin, off the Rio de Janeiro coast, will undergo an audit of international standard to check all their exploration sites. The decision was made by the State Secretary for the Environment of Rio, which has already notified Chevron - responsible for an oil spill last month – so that the company pays for an audit to be performed by an independent company.

In this line of work, information must include contingency plans, emergency plans and the ability to detect and collect spilled oil. The deadline to complete the audit with Chevron is 150 days.
