Marine Protect Areas for Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises is the new book by environmentalist Erich Hoyt, a leading expert on cetaceans in the world. The publication is an important source of information for scientists, managers of marine reserves and people interested in protecting the oceans.

The book shows where the 87 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises live in 125 countries, indicating the best areas of marine ecotourism, and where one can see these animals. "At least 300,000 whales and dolphins die each year from hunting or being accidentally caught in nets. One has to guard against this threat," says Hoyt.
