After detecting a new oil spill in Frade Field in the Campos Basin, the oil company Chevron has decided to suspend its production in Brazil. The problem, a fissure 800 meters long, could have caused negligible environmental damage, according to the company, only five liters of oil were spilled, while in November 3.4 thousand barrels were spoiled. However, the company decided to halt activities as a precaution in order to discover the causes of the leak.

Chevron has concentrated all its production in Brazil in the region of Frade Field. Therefore, its executives have decided to temporarily halt activities in the country. According to the company, as soon as the problem was detected, the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) was notified.
