The president of Petrobras, Maria das Graças Foster announced that the company will put six new rigs into operation in 2013. They will add about 840,000 barrels of oil per day to the company’s current capacity. The production estimate for next year is 2.022 million bpd.

Of the six new rigs, only three will prospect for Petrobras itself: P-55, P-61 and P-63. The other three - City of São Paulo, City of Itajaí and City of Paraty - to be installed in subsalt reserves in the Campos Basin, will be part of the production for the state's partners in these fields.
