The season for Southern Right Whale watching in Patagonian Argentina has started. More specifically, it has started on the Valdes Peninsula, considered to be one of the best places in the world for this practice. The reason for this is because of the crystalline waters in the region. The end of autumn in the southern hemisphere is the time when this cetacean species is reproducing and nursing their calves.

Boat tours last about two hours. In addition to the Right Whales making an appearance at this time of the year, whale watchers who visit the Valdés Peninsula have options throughout the whole year: orcas, elephant seals and sea lions, dolphins, porpoises and Magellanic Penguins.
