On Sunday, the 22nd, a scene scared bathers who were in paradise-like Costa Branca region, on the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, northeastern Brazil: about 30 orca whales stranded on beach Upanema, about 330 kilometers from Natal. Despite the efforts of experts and volunteers to return the animals to the sea, seven of whales died.

Specialists from the State University of Rio Grande do Norte do not yet know the reason for the stranding. The whales that died were taken to the Costa BrancaCetacean Studies Center.
