The death of millions of bees scared beekeepers in the city of Hawk Peixoto, in Sao Paulo. This is the second consecutive year for this to happen in the same region. Excessive use of aircraft pesticide spraying is suspected as a possible cause.

One beekeeper who had the expectation of producing more than a ton of honey, estimates that about 2 million bees died in his 30 hives. The Department of Agriculture and Environment for the region collected samples for analysis.
