A California congressman has submitted a bill to ban the use of orcas in captivity for the purpose of entertainment. Cetaceans could only be kept away from the ocean for scientific programs, preservation or rehabilitation of animals.

If approved, the initiative of the legislator can cause serious damage to aquatic parks such as SeaWorld San Diego. The bill prohibits the breeding of captive orcas and insemination of these cetaceans. The idea is that the parks work to rehabilitate these aquatic mammals and then return them to nature, specifically to protected ocean sanctuaries.
