Research conducted by scientists at Royal Holloway University of London, England, found that the exposure of worker bees to insecticide types like piretoide causes the insects to be born smaller and grow less. The product is typically used to avoid damage to the cultivation of flowers.

During the study, bees were divided into two groups: half exposed to the insecticide and the other half, not. Then scientists monitored the insects for four months to evaluate their weight and size. The results showed that bees affected by the products were smaller than those of the group that had not come in contact with it.
