Twenty-three bee species living in the National Park of Itabaiana, in the state of Sergipe, have been identified in a survey conducted by the Technological Research Institute. The objective is to know which species is best suited to each type of crop.

Two species had never been recorded in the state of Sergipe. "This project will help us to understand which bees are visiting the plantations and which are most appropriate in the pollination of each agricultural product," explained researcher Frederico Machado, who is coordinating the study.
