Scientists at the Karadag Nature Reserve in Crimea (region disputed by Ukraine and Russia) have found new evidence that communication between dolphins has similarities to that of humans. The research shows that animals can talk by issuing a set of sounds equivalent to five words.

"Essentially, this exchange sounds like a conversation between two people. We can consider that each sound is a phoneme or a word of the dolphins’ spoken language," wrote Vyacheslav Ryabov, one of the authors of the study. To conduct the research, scientists have observed two dolphins (one male and one female), over 20 years. They were kept in a pool, which had equipment installed capable of capturing their sounds.
