With the arrival of spring in the southern hemisphere, comes the start of the high productivity season for bees. This is because their main food is flower nectar, which becomes more abundant at this time. Given the increased supply, bees feed more and increase their ability to produce honey.

The season is also conducive to bees saving up for winter honey reserves, the main food for the queen bee, which lays up to 2,000 eggs in the spring.
