Canadian scientists used a drone to record images of rare bowhead whales in the Arctic. These whales measure about 15 meters long and are the mammals with greater longevity on the planet with an average of 200 years. However, the species is rarely seen because when one of them feels threatened it dives under the ice sheets, before anything or anyone can approach.

The species arouses special interest to researchers. They believe that more detailed studies of Bowhead whales can help them better understand the effects of aging. With more pictures captured by drones, scientists hope to advance the research.
