Regulatory News

"Our regulatory system has become something that is not attractive to companies," White House spokesperson Sean Spicer told a news conference on March 27. Spicer talked to the Trump government about the importance of changes in US tax and regulatory systems, which would make the country more competitive. The statement by the White House spokesperson reaffirms the government's efforts toward a policy of regulatory easing and diminishing bureaucracy.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) - responsible for approving, modifying or vetoing any clause drafted by US regulatory agencies - plays a major role in implementing the new US government policy. One of President Donald Trump's strongest statements was the executive order signed on February 24, which states: "It is the policy of the United States to ease the unnecessary regulatory burdens placed on the American people." The executive order further states that each regulatory agency should collaborate with initiatives that will ensure sector reform.
