Regulatory News

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has presented a plan to ease restrictions on the country's biggest banks and financial institutions after the financial crisis of the past decade. In a nearly 150-page report released earlier this week, targets are set for reducing industry regulations.

Despite stating that the matter should be brought for discussion in Congress, Mnuchin guarantees that Casa Grande aims to launch executive acts to improve the business environment. In an interview with Reuters, the Treasury Secretary estimated that only about one fifth of the desired regulation would pass through the Legislature, while the remainder of the modifications to simplify the system will be implemented by President Donald Trump's team.
