Regulatory News

The International Offshore Petroleum Environment Regulators (IOPER), a collaborative group of oil and biofuel regulatory agencies from various countries, will host the Spillcon 2019 - Source Control Workshop event in Perth, Australia, from May 20-24. By bringing together agencies from Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Norway, IOPER seeks to raise environmental safety standards in oil production and exploration activities.

At Spillcon, IOPER and Australia's NOPSEMA (National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environment Management Authority) join the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) in discussions on the cause, prevention and response to accidents involving oil exploration that may have an impact in the environment.
